Patriots HC Bill Belichick keeps his New Year’s resolutions to himself

Perhaps New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick prefers to keep his New Year’s resolutions to himself.
Maybe he writes them down in a special diary.
He could also have none to speak of.
Whatever the case may be, he had no interest in sharing them to reporters on two separate occasions in the past week.
Last Sunday, following a loss to the Buffalo Bills in a pivotal game for the AFC East division race, Belichick was asked about his New Year’s resolutions.
The stern head coach said “not right now” and then “maybe next week.”
The Patriots had just lost a big game, and he clearly did not feel like that was the time to answer a non-football question. That makes sense, and at least he didn’t just say “We’re onto Jacksonville.”
Persistence is key in reporting, though, and the same reporter asked again on a Zoom press conference Friday.
“They would all be personal so they wouldn’t mean anything to you anyway,” Belichick responded.
He then gave a little grin and said “thank you.”

Belichick has had a number of memorable moments during press conferences throughout his career. This one has the potential to pop up on social feeds as part of each New Year’s celebration.
