A handful NFL quarterbacks are securing the bag and getting a some serious weapons this offseason.
Just take a look at what transpired Thursday, when the Las Vegas Raiders not only pulled off a trade to acquire wide receiver Davante Adams, but reportedly began working on an extension for quarterback Derek Carr.
That recent development wasn’t lost on Erik Burkhardt, the agent of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. He chimed in on Las Vegas’ recent dealings soon after the reports surfaced.
Wait, so you’re telling me teams w (already) paid QBs can also pay:
Highest paid WR, 2 highly paid DEs, one of highest paid OTs, highly paid TE, well paid RBs… and then also still REUP QB as one of the highest paid?! 🤔
It’s a CHOICE. A choice to TRY to win. Or not. #Commitment https://t.co/xmTPURqDle— Erik Burkhardt (@ErikBurkhardt) March 18, 2022
That begs the question: Should Murray get paid this offseason or play Year 4 on his rookie deal?
As for the Cardinals themselves, their only moves on Thursday centered around the special teams unit, re-signing Aaron Brewer to a one-year deal and agreeing to terms with punter Andy Lee on a one-year contract.
It may not look like much but solidifying the special teams trio of Brewer, Lee and kick Matt Prater for another season gives coordinator Jeff Rodgers much more continuity.
Tyler Drake and Erik Ruby break it all down on the latest edition of Cardinals Corner, an Arizona Sports podcast.
The Cardinals Corner podcast kicked off earlier this offseason with the mission of bringing all things Arizona to the table.
