The Arizona Cardinals are partnering with the Arizona Humane Society in an effort to get some furry friends selected to new homes this draft season.
Coinciding with the 2022 NFL Draft kicking off next week, the “Arizona Cardinals Doggie Draft” starts Monday and runs through Sunday, the team announced Thursday.
The special event starts with a Gridiron Scrimmage at the humane society’s South Mountain campus on Monday that will include Budda Barker, J.J. Wagg, DeAndre Pupkins and Violet, all adoptable dogs.
Throughout the week, the Cardinals will spotlight seven of the Arizona Humane Society’s longest residents. A new dog will be featured daily.
Each of the dogs will have their own draft card on the Pup Prospect page that includes a bio, age, gender and the size of the dog.
Some of the dogs featured will have their adoption fees waived.
All of the adoptable dogs come spayed or neutered, are microchipped and are up to date on vaccines. The pups will also have a free VCA Animal Hospital wellness exam.
On top of the weeklong online event, the Arizona Humane Society will be at State Farm Stadium for the Cardinals NFL Draft party to give more information on pet adoptions.
