Arizona baseball’s start to the NCAA Tournament on Friday against Ole Miss has been postponed to Saturday.

The Wildcats begin playoff baseball in Coral Gables, Florida, and weather has pushed back the regional’s kickoff a day.

No. 2 Arizona in the regional will watch No. 1 Miami and No. 4 Canisius at 9 a.m. MST on Saturday and then Arizona will face No. 3 Ole Miss 55 minutes after the conclusion of that game. The NCAA originally tried to move the Miami-Canisius game to a 7 a.m. MST start on Friday to beat the incoming tropical storm but that change in the schedule was postponed.

The tropical storm in the area could potentially push back the start of the regional even further, per the Miami Herald.

The double-elimination format of only one team advancing from each of the 16 regionals will quickly whittle the 64-team tournament down to 16 in the super regionals. From there, eight best-of-three series in the super regionals will determine the eight teams that make the College World Series. That round follows the same format, with two four-team groups in a double-elimination round to produce just two remaining teams that will face off in a best-of-three series for all the marbles.

Arizona baseball has won the College World Series four times (1976, 1980, 1986, 2012) and has made it to that portion of the NCAA Tournament 18 times, including last year. This season marks the program’s 41st appearance in the tournament.
