Cardinals’ Chandler Catanzaro dabs after game-winning kick against Bengals

Cat Man cut down the big Bengal cats on Sunday Night Football, and then jumped onto the hottest dance craze on the internet.

After kicking the game-winning field goal to help the Arizona Cardinals drop the Cincinnati Bengals, 34-31, kicker Chandler Catanzaro went straight to the dab.

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton only pushed the dab further into pop culture lore with his extended dabbing session during a game last week, and you can read this history lesson of the dance over at Sports Illustrated.

The connection between the dab and Catanzaro goes like so: Catanzaro, who himself was a Tiger in college, played for coach Dabo Swinney at Clemson. A media outlet just this week incorrectly identified the dab as being named after Swinney.

That said, Swinney has indeed been caught dabbing in his Clemson locker room. It’s cool to see Catanzaro give his old coach a little shout-out. OK, maybe it’s just coincidence. Nonetheless, for a second week in a row, the Cardinals are all over the interwebs for breaking it down.

Last week, Carson Palmer got fined for a gesture, while backup quarterback Drew Stanton actually put together a pretty well-executed succession of dance moves. Neither were caught on camera this time around, leaving Catanzaro to steal the show.

It should also be noted that Cardinals receiver John Brown also boogied after he scored a touchdown against Cincinnati, but we already knew he could do that.
