Sean Miller thanks Pac-12 for continued discussion on court storming

Just around the same time the Arizona Wildcats fell 70-64 against the Utah Utes, UA coach Sean Miller thanked Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott for hearing him out and continuing the discussion of court storming raised by Miller days earlier.
“I am aware that the Pac-12 Conference and the athletic directors have brought up court storming before, and it did not have the majority support that it needed,” the statement read. “University of Arizona President Ann Weaver Hart and Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott have agreed to raise it again, and I want to thank them for their consideration.”
The Utes, the favorite in Salt Lake City, did not rush the court after beating Arizona on Saturday.
Miller had offered sharp words on the issue following his team’s loss at Colorado on Wednesday, saying an Arizona player could end up punching a fan in self-defense if the court-storming practices continue.
When Miller was told that Scott attended the game Wednesday, the Arizona coach reportedly said, “he doesn’t care.”
Scott, however, appeared during the ASU-Utah game the following night and discussed the court-storming issue, one he says he takes seriously.

“Our schools have not wanted to go so far to prohibit court-storming,” he said. “My biggest concern is the safety of our student-athletes and our fans and that’s why I’ve endorsed proposals.”
Every school in the Pac-12 is currently required to have a safety plan to deal with court-storming, but Scott added the discussion will continue.
