Grand Canyon students pumped for ASU exhibition

Saturday night Herb Sendek’s Arizona State Sun Devils are
playing a game in the Valley, and they’ll undoubtedly be
the
visitors.

The Devils will bus over to Central Phoenix to visit the
Grand Canyon Antelopes, a Division II team coached by
former
ASU assistant and radio broadcaster Russ Pennell, in an
exhibition game to prepare for the 2011-12 season.

It’s a special night on the Grand Canyon campus, as
Saturday
will be the first hoops game held at the brand new 5,000-
seat Grand Canyon University Arena.

Of course, this is an exhibition game, but the students on
campus at GCU are taking it seriously. In fact, the GCU
Media Team has put together a preview rap video called
“Hear the Thunder” that shows just how seriously the
Antelopes are taking this game.
