MLK Day shoes and fashion around the NBA

The NBA celebrated Martin Luther King Day with a full day of games.

It also celebrated the civil rights leader with fashion.

While Adidas rolled out their star players’ shoes for Black History Month a few days ago, Nike and Jordan held off on promoting their black-on-black kicks worn by NBA players across the league Monday. Paul George and Kyrie Irving wore their own shoe lines in the black theme, while others like Buddy Hield and Jabari Parker put on player exclusives themselves.

Golden State forward Draymond Green wore Warriors-themed shoes that read “sideline racism” and promoted Rise to Win, an organization that on its website says is, “harnessing the unifying power of sports to improve race relations and drive social progress.”

Additionally, the NBA’s official sock company, Stance, turned out a special look for MLK Day.
