LISTEN: All-Access with Cole Toner

During training camp, Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Cole Toner will join Doug and Wolf every morning on 98.7 FM, Arizona’s Sports Station, to give an inside look at the daily grind of camp and a personal view of how his 2017 preparation is coming along.

So far the reviews of the Arizona Cardinals’ offensive line have been positive. Well, at least from Cole Toner. The second-year player had a different opinion about Thursday’s practice however.

“(Thursday) was not a great day for the whole O-line in general, me especially,” Toner said. “When those days happen — and they do happen — you’ve just got regroup and come play well (Friday), which is the mindset I take.”

But in the course of a less-than-stellar practice, a player can’t just look ahead to the next day. He’s got to try and make corrections on a snap-to-snap basis, as Toner explained.

“When you get out of the drill, you’re kind of frustrated with yourself and you try to tell yourself ‘I’ve got to be better when I get in there next time,'” he said.

Toner and the rest of his offensive line mates got a chance to think about something else after the practice. The annual rookie talent portion of training camp started, and Toner, who had to sing as a first-year player last year, was impressed by a few of the youngsters.

“Carlton Agudosi, the receiver from Rutgers, was pretty good,” Toner said. “Haason Reddick was pretty good — they were all pretty decent. They mostly sang some R&B songs, and I didn’t know all of them, but they were pretty good.”
