Not once. Not twice.
Arizona State running back Demario Richard picked up where he left off when ASU took on Oregon State Saturday.
On 17 carries, Richard amassed 119 yards and three touchdowns as the Sun Devils beat the Beavers 40-24, becoming bowl eligible in the process.
“We knew our goal was to come out and play fast,” Richard said after the game. “We’d seen them on film that they had a hard time with tempo and getting lined up. We just came out and pushed the tempo, and it showed in the first quarter, and the second quarter and the third quarter.”
Richard’s first touchdown came in the second quarter when he took it 17 yards for the score.

But Richard’s day was far from over.
He followed it up with another end zone trip later in the first half, bringing the score to 30-0 in favor of the Sun Devils.

Why stop there?
Toward the beginning of the fourth quarter, Richard got the elusive hat trick, scoring from three yards out and sealing the win for the Sun Devils.
You know what’s cooler than two touchdowns? THREE touchdowns!

For Richard, it was his third-straight game surpassing the 100-yard mark and his second game of the season with multiple touchdowns. It was his 12th 100-yard game as a Sun Devil and tied Leon Burton Jr. and J.R. Redmond for the fifth-most in ASU history. He now has 10 touchdowns on the season.
