The Arizona Cardinals are expected to bring in Richmond quarterback Kyle Lauletta for a visit, according to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro.

Lauletta threw for over 3,000 yards passing in each of his last three seasons playing for the Spiders. In his senior year, he posted career-highs in completion percentage (64.9 percent), passing yards (3,737) and touchdowns (28).

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback prospect is graded by NFL.com as a fifth-round prospect.

Lauletta has decent accuracy and mechanics to work with, but his lack of NFL arm strength will limit the number of teams who are willing to consider him. Lauletta’s interceptions come due to arm issues rather than decision-making and that may not be correctable in the pros due to the increase in play speed that he will see in NFL secondaries.

The Cardinals signed quarterbacks Sam Bradford and Mike Glennon in free agency following the retirement of Carson Palmer. Bradford signed a one-year deal with an option for the next year while Glennon signed for two years.

With the Cardinals selecting No. 15 in the upcoming NFL Draft, there is some concern as to whether or not a first-round quality quarterback prospect will be available when they pick. The Cleveland Browns (Nos. 1 and 4), New York Giants (No. 2), New York Jets (No. 3), Denver Broncos (No. 5), Miami Dolphins (No. 11) and Buffalo Bills (No. 12) are all teams that have been linked to potentially selecting a signal caller in the first round.
