Arizona State announced Thursday that it has canceled all sport competitions, “effective immediately” and “until further notice.”

“This decision has been made in consultation with other Pac-12 member universities in an effort to limit the spread of the COVID-19 and in the interest of the health and safety of our student-athletes, campus personnel, working and event personnel, and all those who attend Pac-12 events,” the statement read.

The Sun Devils said that fans who purchased individual game tickets to an upcoming baseball or softball game will receive a full credit worth the price of their tickets on their accounts. It can be used on any future ticket this year, if games resume, or for the 2020-21 athletic season.

Single game ticketholders who want a refund instead of a credit can fill out a ticket refund form.

Other schools such as Duke and Kansas have also indefinitely canceled all sporting events, effectively removing themselves from the NCAA men’s basketball postseason.

The NCAA announced on Wednesday that the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments would continue but without fans as authorities work to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

On Thursday, most major conference tournaments, including the Pac-12’s, were canceled.

The Sun Devils were scheduled to face Washington State in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Las Vegas.
