Country musician Blake Shelton still has love for Steve Keim and the Arizona Cardinals.

A year after he posted a picture of himself kissing the Cardinals general manager on the cheek after Kyler Murray was drafted, Shelton appeared on Rich Eisen’s Draft-A-Thon, an NFL Draft show that raised money for COVID-19 funding.

On the show, Shelton’s background was full of Cardinals memorabilia, including a computer monitor that just had the logo.

He pulled down a couple pictures to show Murray, who was on the video call with the group.

“I already got my Kyler Murray thing from one of those, it’s probably like a black market rip-off merch,” Shelton said, showing a photo.

Eisen asked if Murray could tell if it was authentic.

“I think we need to get one for him,” Murray joked as San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, who was also on the call, chimed in that it “looks fake.”

“I don’t like the look of it,” Murray said with a smile.

The two riffed back and forth. Shelton, an avid Cardinals fan, said he’s never met Murray — though he has met the quarterback’s mother, which he said to laughs around the video call.

“My mom says, ‘Hi,'” Murray said.

“Tell her I said, ‘Hello,'” Shelton said to more laughs.

There was serious talk, too. Murray was asked about what he thought of Isaiah Simmons, to which he complimented the Cardinals’ first-round draft pick on his versatility and said he thinks it’s a “great pick.”

But it quickly went silly again.

Former offensive lineman Joe Thomas chimed in to ask if he was disappointed the Cardinals didn’t draft an offensive lineman.

“I don’t make the calls,” Murray demurred.

“That’s the face of disappointment,” Thomas said to more laughter.

At that point, Shelton had to stand up for his man, Keim. The singer pulled down a framed photo of Keim sitting alone in a chair.

At that point, Good Morning Football host Kay Adams asked Murray how often Shelton bugs him.

“There’s a good reason that they’ve never given me Kyler’s phone number,” Shelton said.

The two also spoke about raising money for causes to support others in the wake of the coronavirus. Shelton donated money to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to help a small Oklahoma town and is encouraging others to do the same.

“Being such a small town, sadly, I gotta say, I never even thought about there being a food bank in a community this small,” Shelton said. “The reason I gave the money is to try and encourage everybody to get involved.”

Murray also spoke about GENYOUth, which he wrote about in the Player’s Tribune. The organization helps feed students and launched a coronavirus initiative to help fund up to $3,000 per school for meal distribution and delivery.
