The design was inspired by a Stealth Fighter Jet with the new helmet shell featuring a matte black finish.
The Jets will include these helmets with their fan-favorite Stealth Black uniform which will be worn during three Jets home games.
While the Jets are choosing to darken their new alternate helmets, the Bengals did the complete opposite as they officially revealed their new “White Bengal” helmets.

The Eagles unveiled a new sleek black helmet while they await for their Kelly Green helmets in 2023.
This will be the Eagle’s first alternate helmet since 2010.
According to the Eagles, the team will complete its monochrome uniform with the addition of their new helmet.
The addition of the three teams’ new look comes after the NFL updated its policy to allow teams to wear a second helmet with throwback, color rush or alternate uniforms.
