The whole league is on notice that Cardinals’ running back David Johnson might just be the best at his position in the league. With Arizona’s second fifth round pick on Saturday, Johnson should be getting some depth behind him.

The Cardinals drafted T.J. Logan, a running back from North Carolina, with the 179th overall pick.

Logan showed at the NFL Combine that he will be able to break away from defenders in the open field, posting a 4.37-second mark at the 40-yard dash. It was the fastest mark at the Combine at the running back position, and sixth-fastest overall.

The 5-foot 9-inch, 196-pound speedster played four years with the Tar Heels, known for his speed and ability to run the ball, catch the ball and make plays on special teams.

He was named to the All-ACC Specialist Second-Team for his senior year play.

In 2016, he tallied 650 yards on 120 carries (5.4 yards per carry) and seven rushing touchdowns. He also had 29 catches for 244 yards and three touchdowns, while posting 1,584 all-purpose yards.

Logan played in all 13 games in 2016, leading the ACC with a 32.9 kickoff return average.
